If you’re tired of the usual grind of a 9-5 job, love road trips and going to new places, starting a career as an HGV driver will surely give you the satisfaction, fulfilment and challenge you are looking for. This job opportunity will give people from all age groups, cultures and previous job experiences the chance to have diverse and well-balanced work experience.

Local and convenient

The secrets of success is our sheer size. As a truck driving school in the UK, we have built a network of training facilities throughout the country. Making training more convenient has been part of our long-range vision since the HGV Training Centre was first established. We believe that making training as convenient as possible is one of the best ways to recruit new lorry drivers to an industry so desperately in need.

Career progression

A career in HGV can take you to different places, quite literally! With the right HGV training and support, you can learn new skills to expand your career portfolio, ensuring you keep moving up the ladder, while also continuously boosting your pay packet. If you work hard and make the most of the opportunities out there, you can probably find your way into transport manager positions and then, the skies the limit.

Depending on the industry you work in, you can expect to earn an average salary ranging between £21,000 and £30,000. If you undertake further training to pick up specialist skills, which could accordingly increase your salary.

It’s more varied than you think

HGV driving as a career is not just about driving from points A to B. You will also be working as part of a wider team, planning routes and dealing with customers.

Anyone can do it!

If you already hold a valid driving license, you will just need to get a CPC certificate which can be obtained quickly through a training provider. You don’t need any previous experience,  A levels or a degree to start. Some services also offer recruitment opportunities so that when you qualify, you will have a range of jobs to apply for.

A sense of pride in doing a job

People do not always realise that without the logistics industry, many businesses and retailers would grind to a halt. HGV driving does make a difference to the world whether it is ensuring supermarket shelves are stocked or delivering specialist equipment to hospitals.
